  • We are able to conduct family work for a range of issues; our team consists of staff who have vast experience in dealing with many of the issue that can lead to chaotic and dysfunctional lifestyles.

Independent Living Accommodation

 

  • Fair Homes Next Step provides semi-independent supported accommodation for young people, who are in transition to adult hood, however may not be ready to live completely independently. The aim of the service is to provide a safe supportive environment and opportunity for young people to develop the practical skills and emotional stability they will need to make the transition to adulthood and make a success of independent living.

 

  • Fair Homes Next Step provides individualised programmes to meet individual needs. This includes on-site support, individual support workers and direct work.

  • The programme includes: Health education; Registering with a doctor and dentist; Sex education including contraception and preparing for parenthood; Safety in the home and first aid; Shopping, preparing food to achieve a balanced diet; Knowledge of emergency services and how to summon help; The cost of living including household budgeting, regular payment of bills and avoiding credit cards/loans; How to carry out basic household maintenance; General housekeeping including sewing, mending and laundry; Applying for housing, locating and maintaining; Job applications and interviews; Contacting social services and other agencies; Seeking advice and making a complaint; Using resources in the community; Citizenship; Roles of agencies including connexions and citizens advice; Contacting support groups and agencies specialising in working with young people in care.

 

Insurance and Insurance and Health and Safety

 

Fair Homes Next Step have an insurance policy that covers those involved in all activities e.g. Public Liability Insurance and full Business Insurance for people who intend to use their own vehicles as a means of transport whilst on business related purposes.

Health & Safety is a matter of utmost importance to Fair Homes Next Step. Full risk assessments will be implemented, in all areas, prior to any programme being delivered.

 

Fair Homes Next Steps aim for all staff is,

Unlimited training for all involved, recognised professional development as an ongoing benefit.

Potential for expansion, working in partnership with local agencies, to meet individual needs as identified by both clients and professional agencies.
