To celebrate communal festive occasions, such as Eid, Christmas, Diwali and birthdays. We recognise that support is still needed at full independence for emotional and health issues.

Fair Homes Next Steps offer a full multi-disciplinary team which includes; psychotherapy, drug/alcohol, holistic therapy, independent living coordinators, mentors and Social workers. Our staff team are all experienced and qualified to work with vulnerable young people who may present with a variety of behaviours.

Risk Assessments

All risk assessments are identified for each young person and these will be continually evaluated and updated. If a young person presents behaviours that cause concern then strategies can be implemented to assist with these, i.e. self-harming behaviour, anger management and low self-worth.

Drug and Alcohol

All young people will be assessed by the substance misuse team to ascertain their knowledge of drugs, alcohol and what risk these may pose. If the young person has no history of substance misuse, education about the effects and possible health risks will take place.

Our team is comprised of highly experienced drug and alcohol workers who have dealt with substance misuse first hand. This enables staff to offer education and support on an empathetic basis rather than sympathetic.

Holistic Therapy

We have a qualified therapist who offers alternative therapy to young people who would like to experience Aromatherapy, Reflexology or Reiki healing. There will always be a psychotherapist onsite after any session to support the young person with any issues that may arise from the therapy.

Independent Living

As part of our program the young people will be assessed on their current living skills and abilities, they will then be supported on identified areas of work. Each young person will be given a budget to live on each week and this will be equivalent to the amount the young person would be expected to live on, within the community if on benefits. The young person will be guided on money management, budget food shopping, including diet and healthy eating, also encouraged to put a small amount into a savings account each week. Our independent living coordinators will support a young person looking at health, personal hygiene, diet and weekly meal planning, along with booking appointments with health services.

Life Skills

Mentors and support staff aim to teach essential life skills to the young people in preparation for their independence in the community, addressing assertiveness and decision making. Our mentoring team include staff from all different backgrounds and life experiences including offending backgrounds.
